Lace up your boots, my friends, dust off your brass knuckles, and get ready for another weekly podcast of The Rebel Beat! This week on the show, we laid down a raucous, at times brutal, at times folky, antifascist music set. This is in following with our previous discussions on the unfolding refugee crisis in Europe and the Middle East, the response of fascist governments and their shock troops in several countries, but also on the heroic solidarity of anti-fascist militants, not to mention the bravery of the migrants themselves.
Aaaand we’re back with another weekly Rebel Beat podcast! This week, we were blessed at the controls by our friend DJ Killjoy. She brought in a wicked set of mostly local MTL artists, and we chatted about the local scene, feminism and women in music, and more. Plus we also give a look at some of the winners and highlights from the recent Indigenous Music Awards that were held in Winnipeg. Enjoy! Continue reading →
Welcome back to another edition of The Rebel Beat, bringing you class war on the dance floor every week!
On this edition, our monthly collaboration with Submedia.TV is back fuckin’ on! Frank was back at the controls with us to bring us amazing sets of music – we would expect no less from our favourite purveyors of global anarchist revolt and riot porn videos. Plus, we featured an interview with a Turkish anarchist, El Cuchillo, on the situation in Rojava, a liberated Kurdish territory in northern Syria. To see the Submedia video featuring that interview, head on over here. Continue reading →

They just released their new album ‘Subculture’, and Pauline tells us all about it.
Plus, we also had a surprise guest drop by the studio, Paola Quiros, from one of our favourite podcasts, Suena a Revolucion! Suena a Revolucion is based out of Vancouver, and features mostly feminist music from across Latin America and the Caribbean. Make sure you check them out! Continue reading →

We focused a lot not only on Roma music, but also the struggles of Roma people against racism and fascism in Europe and right here in Canada.
