This is in following with our previous discussions on the unfolding refugee crisis in Europe and the Middle East, the response of fascist governments and their shock troops in several countries, but also on the heroic solidarity of anti-fascist militants, not to mention the bravery of the migrants themselves.

The Selecter have been playing music for over 35 years, and have always brought an incredibly poignant anti-racist and anti-sexist element to ska music. They just released their new album ‘Subculture’, and Pauline tells us all about it.

Welcome back to our weekly podcast for The Rebel Beat! This week, we had a renowned Romani accordionist, Sergiu Popa, come by the studio for an interview and live performance. We focused a lot not only on Roma music, but also the struggles of Roma people against racism and fascism in Europe and right here in Canada.
