We spoke with Matana about her musical process, which she refers to as “panoramic sound quilting”, as well as race, identity, and history. In the second half of the show, we played the majority of her recent piece Black lives matter/All lives matter, recorded in Brooklyn last December, and focusing on the militarization of police forces in the USA.

Plus brand new music this week from Blackbird Raum and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
